Aloha all ACF breakfast volunteers!!
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who supported our 24th ACF Annual Breakfast in any way. YOU are the ones who make the event so successful. Not only are there financial benefits, but the publicity of the Culinary Program and the College in the community is immeasurable. Everyone who had breakfast with us had fabulous feedback. The Culinary program cannot thank you all enough!! MAHALO and here's to a great event next year.

KCC Library: Poetry Reading by poet & writer Carole Langille of Nova Scotia
Kauai Community College is pleased to welcome the Nova Scotian poet, Carole Langille, for a reading of her poetry at the KCC Library (in the Hawaiian/Pacific section) Wednesday, February 24th at 12:00 noon.
Ms. Langille is the author of three books of poetry and a collection of short stories, When I Always Wanted Something. Her second collection of poetry, In Cannon Cave, was nominated for The Governor General's Award and The Atlantic Poetry Prize. Six poems from her third book, Late in a Slow Time were set to music by the Canadian composer Chan Ka Nin and will be released on Duo Concertante's next CD.
Chancellor's Corner
Mahalo to all of those who helped with the Culinary Program's Breakfast and the Used Book Sale this past weekend! Our culinary program is awesome--students, faculty and staff. And so are all of you who volunteered to help in so many ways--organizing, setting up, cooking, selling things, cleaning up, etc. I had a chance to not only eat way too much ono food, but also check out the Used Book Sale in its new location, and peek my head into the film about bees. Some days I am simply amazed at the generous spirit of this place and the variety of things going on. Sunday was definitely one of those days! I had two colleagues from Salt Lake Community College come with John and me to the breakfast. They were here as facilitators of a Community College Leadership Champions Retreat held at the Waimea Plantation Cottages. They were simply amazed both by those at the retreat and by what they saw at the Breakfast. They couldn't believe the relationship we have with our community and the spirit of volunteerism we have on our own campus. They left quite envious, and full too!
