Congratulations to Isaiah Kaauwai

Please join me in congratulating Isaiah Kaauwai for being the Community College Leadership Champion from Kaua'i Community College for the next year.

Isaiah's selection reflects the respect his colleagues for him, and the promise they see in his leadership. Thank you, Isaiah, for your interest in CCLC's effort to grow new leaders of the community colleges for the 21st century.

Every year each campus and UHCC office select a representative to be part of CCLC. See below for more information about CCLC and KCC's previous Champions.

WHAT IS CCLC?
The CCLC was established in 2004, under the vision and sponsorship of Joyce Tsunoda and the Tsunoda Community College Leadership Development Fund.

The mission of the University of Hawai'i Community Colleges Leadership Champions (CCLC) is to identify, encourage, develop, and support the next generation of community college leadership.

WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE CCLC?
  • Identify and encourage individuals to welcome roles of leadership
  • Develop creative dynamic leadership committed to the core values of the UHCCs
  • Support an atmosphere of leadership among faculty, staff, and administration

BENEFITS INCLUDE OPPORTUNITIES TO:
  • Network with other professionals from our sister campuses
  • Meet and learn from the various leaders within our UH System
  • Develop leadership, organizational, communication, and team building skills
  • Attend League of Innovation Conference

ELIGIBILITY KCC CHAMPIONS:
Any staff member who is permanent full-time, who has demonstrated leadership potential, who is committed to diversity, public stewardship, working for the greater good, and who desires to pursue personal and professional development in community college leadership:

CCLC Congratulations

Congratulations to Maureen Tabura, who has been selected as the 2011-12 Community College Leadership Champion representative for Kaua'i Community College. CCLC was established in 2004 through the vision and sponsorship of Joyce Tsunoda and the many UHCC and community contributors to the Joyce S. Tsunoda Community College Leadership Development Fund. The Leadership Champions is comprised of representatives from the seven community colleges and the UHCC System Office, who share an interest in learning to be better leaders.

The mission of the University of Hawai'i Community Colleges Leadership Champions (CCLC) is to identify, encourage, develop, and support the next generation of community college leadership.
The Goals of CCLC are to:
  • Identify and encourage individuals to welcome roles of leadership
  • Develop creative dynamic leadership committed to the core values of the UHCCs
  • Support an atmosphere of leadership among faculty, staff, and administration
BENEFITS INCLUDE OPPORTUNITIES TO:
  • Network with other professionals from our sister campuses 
  • Meet and learn from the various leaders within our UH System 
  • Develop leadership, organizational, communication, and team building skills 
  • Attend a higher education conference on the mainland (final conference to be determined, but perhaps League for Innovation) 
ELIGIBILITY:
Any staff member who is permanent full-time, who has demonstrated leadership potential, who is committed to diversity, public stewardship, working for the greater good, and who desires to pursue personal and professional development in community college leadership.

Maureen will be a wonderful addition to the leadership group, and I congratulate her on her selection.
