Karen Pittman, a national leader in the field of youth development, will speak on 
"The Learning Curve: Improving the Odds for Kauai Youth,"
 on June 5 from 6-8pm at the Kaua`i Community College Performing Arts Center.

KAREN PITTMAN is Co-Founder, President and CEO of The Forum for Youth Investment, based in Washington, DC. She is a national leader in the youth development field and was recognized by The NonProfit Times as one of the top 50 CEOs in nonprofits with power and influence.

A widely published author of books and articles on youth issues, Karen speaks across the country with the message that all community members play an important role in helping youth be “Ready by 21” - ready for college, work and life.

Karen will discuss the importance of creating quality learning opportunities in and out of school as a way to improve the odds for youth and moderate a panel discussion with local leaders about current efforts on island.
