University of Hawaii is offering free electronic waste recycling during Education and Government eWaste Disposal Days 2012, October 25 to October 27. The program is open to Hawaii residents, all public or private schools and universities, all City, County, State or Federal/Military branches, small to medium sized businesses (of less than 100 employees) and non-profits. There will be seven drop off locations on UH campuses on Oahu, Kauai, Maui, along with U of H Hilo and Kealakehe High School in Kailua-Kona both on Hawaii Island.
Pre-registration through the event webpage http://www.hawaii.edu/ewaste is required for the above mentioned Institutions; you are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate administrative paperwork for disposal of any items has been completed through your institution. The Institutional drop offs will be held on October 25 and 26; dates and times vary per campus so please visit the webpage: http://www.hawaii.edu/ewaste
Hawaii residents are invited to drop off their personal ewaste on October 27 from 9:00am to 3:00pm; no registration required. Visit http://www.hawaii.edu/ewaste for more information including maps to drop off sites and a list of electronic items accepted.
Staff will unload equipment from vehicles at drop off sites. All equipment collected will be processed in North America in an environmentally responsible way; recycling and disposal services provided courtesy of Apple.
