ERS Hybrid Upgrade session on Kauai - 3/4/2010

Aloha,

The following message applies only to employees eligible for the Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) Hybrid Plan Upgrade Program. Please disregard this message if you are not eligible for the program.

The Hybrid Plan Upgrade Program provides eligible employees a one-time opportunity to enhance their monthly pension from the ERS. Employees may "upgrade" all, some, or none of their Noncontributory service to Hybrid service.

To learn more about this program, the ERS is holding two (2) Hybrid Plan Upgrade Program informational meetings:

     DATE: Thursday, March 4, 2010
     TIME: 10:00 a.m.
     PLACE: State Building Conference Rooms A, B, and C
                    3060 Eiwa Street, 2nd Floor, Līhu‘e, HI 96766

NOTE: This is the last session that will be held on Kaua‘i.

Eligibility requirements to participate in the Hybrid Plan Upgrade Program include all of the following:

• Actively employed ERS member on June 30, 2006
• Made the election to transfer to the Hybrid plan, effective July 1, 2006
• Had Non-contributory service prior to July 1, 2006 and
• Actively employed ERS member on December 31, 2008  

Employees may register to attend a meeting at https://www.ershybridupgrade.com/ or by contacting the call center toll free at (877) 544-4505. A complete list of informational meetings throughout the State is available at this website.
As the website is secured, employees will have to log in using their ERS username and password that was provided via a personal statement from ERS. Please note that the username and password are case sensitive and different from the UH username and password.

The Governor and President of the University have authorized up to 2 ½ hours of work time, including travel time, to attend one (1) group meeting.

As a reminder, the last day employees may make their Hybrid Plan Upgrade Program election is April 3, 2010.
