Summer 2012 TALENT Workshops: Laulima Essentials

Planning to teach online or looking to use Web-based tools in your face-to-face course? These webinars can help get you started:

Intro to Laulima
Laulima is the University's learning management system. We'll introduce you to the system and demonstrate how it can be used to perform basic course functions.
July 17 noon - 1:00 pm

Tools and Pedagogies
Discover how certain pedagogies can be applied to Laulima's tools to help make conducting course activities more effective. This workshop will introduce techniques and present examples to consider when delivering a course online or enhancing a face to face class using Laulima.
July 19 noon - 1:00 pm

Laulima's Testing Tools
This workshop will cover the basics of using the two testing tools -- Tasks, Tests and Surveys and Tests & Quizzes -- available in Laulima. Topics include constructing a basic quiz, publishing considerations, and viewing/grading student submissions.
July 24 noon - 1:00 pm

Tips and Tricks
Learn how to convert a file to PDF, embed a YouTube video, create a Web page in Laulima then link it to a Home page, and learn how to tag an avatar to your messages in the Discussion and Private Messages tool.
July 26 noon - 1:00 pm

The webinars are free and will be conducted via the Halawai web conference system.
