KCC Lecturer Writes in The Nation About Militarization of the Pacific

Esther Koohan Paik, who teaches Digital Storytelling/Video (ART 157) and who has also taught English at KCC, has been published in the May 3 issue of the political weekly, The Nation. Know on campus by her nickname--"Camera"--Paik has worked as both a print and video journalist advocating for the rights of Pacific peoples. In this article, she describes the U.S. military's colossal and devastating plans for the U.S. territory of Guam and the adjacent Mariana islands. There are many parallels to be found between the challenges faced by the people of Guam and those that confront the people of Hawaii.
