Quarterly eWaste Recycling Program Established For UH

The University of Hawaii has launched a free systemwide quarterly electronic waste (ewaste) recycling program for all campuses including UH Education Centers. The program allows for earth-friendly recycling of unwanted electronic equipment belonging to the university; all ewaste will be processed in certified mainland facilities; a Certificate of Destruction will be provided when the destruction of the equipment is complete. Recycling and disposal services are provided courtesy of Apple.

Representatives have been designated on each campus for aggregation of equipment, palletization, and processing of paperwork for pickup during the months of April, July, August, and October each year. Contact Kauai CC Computer Services to determine which procedures have been established for participation. This program is for UH equipment only, no personal or public ewaste. You are encouraged to advertise equipment on the UH Electronic Swap Meet (http://www.hawaii.edu/swapmeet/) for reuse prior to recycling. All equipment must be processed per the Disposal Guidelines For Unused UH Computer Equipment (http://www.hawaii.edu/askus/750)
